Get the celebrity look for less #1: Gigi Hadid

Get the celebrity look for less #1: Gigi Hadid

Can I be honest? Sometimes I’m jealous of the closets of some celebrities. I just love to get my style inspiration from them. They have the best clothing pieces. But If you’re on a budget like me, you probably want to know how to style their looks for less. I’m here to help you. Today’s inspiration is Gigi Hadid (I’ve seen her in real life 1-2 weeks ago, she’s so pretty). Scroll down to see how to shop Gigi’s casual badass look for less.

Gigi’s Look On A Budget

Get the celebrity look for less #1: Gigi Hadid

1.  H&M Crop Top €7.99 // 2. H&M Sunglasses €7.99 // 3. ASOS Mayhem Brogues €33.33 // 4. Stradivarius Medium-Sized Bag  €19.95 // 5. Stradivarius Denim Jacket with Embroidery Detail €49.95 // 6. Only New Royal Coated Biker Skinny Fit Jeans €39.95

As you can see I incorporated my love for flowers in this outfit. The denim jacket is definitely the eye-catcher. Especially the back of the denim jacket! Btw guys, I’ve got a bonus find. This ‘budget’ option looks more like the bag Gigi is using, but the price is too high to call it a budget option. But I still wanted to share it with you guys. I’m talking about the Fiorelli Harlow Moc Croc Tote €113.33, it kinda looks similar right?

Do you like the budget version? And would you wear it? I know I would!

Valentine’s Day dinner date tradition + Tony Chocolonely Sea Salt Caramel & Cranberry’s Cookie Recipe

Valentine’s Day dinner date tradition + Tony Chocolonely Sea Salt Caramel & Cranberry’s Cookie Recipe

Happy Valentine’s Day! I know it such a commercial day… but for me it’s just another excuse to go out to eat with my boyfriend. We’ve been together for 5 years, so we’re past the ‘cutesy’ phase. And I try to bake something for him every v-day, but last year I failed. This year I made him cookies, with one of his favourite chocolates in it. While making the cookies, the mixer decided to not work anymore.  So I mixed everything with the hand.

Tony Chocolonely Sea Salt Caramel with Cranberry’s Cookie Recipe

ingredients

If you like the mix of sweet and salt, this recipe is for you. Of course you don’t have to follow the recipe precisely and use what you have. So here it is:

Ingredients

  • 260 gram flour (205 self rising flour/ 45 gram wheat flour I didn’t have enough self rising flour)
  • 2 teaspoons vanille extract
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 100 gram Tony Chocolonely Sea Salt Caramel
  • 60 gram Cranberry’s
  • 150 gram cane sugar
  • 3 pinches salt
  • 250 gram organic dairy butter

Directions

  1. Pre heat the oven at 190 °C and place the baking sheet on the tray
  2. Chop the chocolate in small pieces
  3. Mix the butter, eggs, vanille extract, sugar and salt.
  4. Add the flour, mix it well.
  5. And of course, add the chocolate and cranberries
  6. Roll the batter in small balls (you can put 9 balls per tray)
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
  8. Cool them for 5 minutes on the baking sheet
  9. Let them cool again until they don’t feel soft and fragile anymore

The recipe is enough for 21 cookies.

Personally I think 80 gram sugar is enough. Next time I would also add more cranberry’s. Oh and, I used 250 butter, because I didn’t want to waste the leftover butter (like I normally do). I think 220 gram is enough.

Our Valentine tradition

Since two years ago we started a tradition, let me call it: ‘surprise restaurant’. So basically every year we switch, this years it’s my boyfriends turn. He has to choose a nice, yummy, delicious restaurant and he also has to keep it a secret from me. But that doesn’t stop me from asking hints, because I’m the annoying girlfriend.

So last year I picked The Seafood Bar in Amsterdam. The year before that he picked De Rechtbank in Utrecht. And for this year he picked Miu, a sushi/asian fusion cuisine restaurant in Amsterdam. Even though I work at a sushi restaurant myself, I still like to eat sushi elsewhere. But I have to say… we both agree that the sushi from my work will always be the best in our eyes (and tongue).

Nonetheless, I enjoy every minute we spend together, especially when we’re eating together.

I Got A Domain Name!

I Got A Domain Name!

Hi guys, yesterday I said that my goal was to post one article per week, but hey, this is the second post for this week. Aren’t you proud of me? What I really wanted to write about/tell you you guys is… today is the day that The Best of Kiki was born! This afternoon I bought the domain name and I’m so happy! There are so many ideas running through my mind.

I’m still busy with the site template, so you will probably see a lot of changes in my blog. Please bear with me till I find the perfect theme. I love flowers, so you will probably see that a lot too. Here below is a inspiration board that I had to make for a school assignment, but it has really nothing to do with the assignment tho… it just shows my love for flowers.

I love flowers

Making time for blogging and Youtube

Making time for blogging and Youtube

Since I was young I’ve always had a blog of some sort. It’s my way to express myself creatively. I used to edit my pictures, banners etc. with Paint Shop Pro 8. Those where the days…

The start of something new
I want to start blogging again, but the older you get, the busier you are… right?  I’m not saying that I don’t have time to blog anymore, what I’m saying is… I have to make time for blogging! The reason why I want to start blogging again is because, I miss to be able to express myself creativity through blogging. Blogging is my creative outlet.

You know, besides blogging, I’ve always wanted to start a Youtube channel. Another platform where I can express myself creatively. Sadly, making time for Youtube also didn’t go as planned, but in 2017 I want to change all that.

Summer 2016 vlog part 1: Benidorm, Spain
I already uploaded one video on my channel. I uploaded it on 30 december 2016, because I wanted to post something before the new year. My time management sucks, I know. If you are curious, it’s a short video of my summer in Benidorm, Spain. I only edited the first part. So the rest will follow.

Upload dates?
I don’t have exact upload dates yet, but I will try to upload one blog post per week. Youtube is a whole another story. I want to focus on my blog first, but you can expect part 2 of my summer 2016 vlog this month.
